Dan was born in Rochester, NY, the son of a boiler inspector and a registered nurse. He grew up in the heart of the Finger Lakes region of Central New York.

Storytelling is in Dan Moore’s blood.  His ancestors include an inventor who told his story through the machines he built, a Broadway playwright who wrote stories for the stage, a Hollywood film actor who told stories through his embodiment of fictional characters in classic movies and a steward at an officer’s club who chronicled the inside story of the Titanic through “The Portrush Letter.”

Dan continues his family’s storytelling tradition as an award winning television producer and writer. A graduate of Cornell University, Boston University and the prestigious S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University, he has written and produced television and radio for local, regional and national audiences.  Dan has written two novels in the Meridian’s Shadow series, “Meridian’s Shadow,” and “Nixie’s Rise,” as well as two stand-alone novels, “The Rings of Alathea” and “Twyner’s Bridge.” His most recent novel, “Ignition Point,” is the third installment in the Meridian’s Shadow series, and is slated for publication later this year.

Dan lived in upstate New York with his wife Diana.  He has two sons, two daughters-in-law
and six grandchildren.

It is with tremendous sadness that I must share with you that Dan Moore passed away on January 1, 2018. On behalf of his family, I would like to thank you for following and supporting his creativity and hope you have gained much from his contribution to the world.
