Dan was born in Rochester, NY, the son of a boiler inspector and a registered nurse. He grew up in the heart of the Finger Lakes region of Central New York.

Storytelling is in Dan Moore’s blood.  His ancestors include an inventor who told his story
through the machines he built, a Broadway playwright who wrote stories for the stage,
a Hollywood film actor who told stories through his embodiment of fictional characters
in classic movies and a steward at an officer’s club who chronicled the inside story of the
Titanic through “The Portrush Letter.”

Dan continues his family’s storytelling tradition as an award winning television producer
and writer. A graduate of Cornell University, Boston University and the prestigious
S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University, he has written and
produced television and radio for local, regional and national audiences. Currently, Dan is
working on his fourth novel,  “Twyners’ Bridge.” He has also written two novels in the Meridian’s Shadow series, “Meridian’s Shadow,” and “Nixie’s Rise,” as well as a stand-alone novel, “The Rings of Alathea.”

Dan lives in upstate New York with his wife Diana.  He has two sons, two daughters-in-law
and three grandchildren.
